Venice

Florence
Florence is the capital of Tuscany region. Its Historic Centre attracts millions of tourists each year, and Euromonitor International ranked the city as the world's 89th most visited in 2012, with 1.8 million visitors. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art, architecture and monuments. Bologna
Bologna is home to the prestigious cultural, economic and political institutions as well as one of the most impressive trade fair districts in Europe. In 2000 it was declared the European capital of culture and in 2006 a UNESCO “city of music”.
Home to the oldest university in the world, University of Bologna founded in 1088, Bologna is famous for its towers. Bologna has also a well-preserved historical centre (one of the largest in Italy). The cityscape is further enriched by its elegant and extensive porticoes, for which the city is famous. In total, there are 38 kilometres of porticoes in the city's historical centre. |
